Over the summer there have been a number of successful coaching days at the club for cadets and adults to have a go at waterskiing. The cadets have taken to the water with enthusiasm and got to grips with skiing behind the cadet rib. Most seem to have cracked the basics of getting up and a fair few have completed a few circuits of the island. The first session was in the Jackson Dock in June and was attended by 9 juniors. We subsequently moved out to bird island for later sessions where the water was a little more choppy at times. The final session was held in September by which time the water temperature was beginning to drop a little. It was also good to have some adults come along and have a go this year.
Next year does look promising in expanding the ski training programme for all, perhaps including some wakeboarding etc. Many thanks to Cheryl Burton, Ian Carveth-Marshall, Neil Mackechnie, Simon Binks and everyone who has helped out with training sessiosns this year...
