Beach launching is ideal with no restrictions on tide or hassles of using a ramp and gives the opportunity to ski all day without any issues. The other great thing about the coastal waters up here is how clean they are compared to the usual mucky waters further south on the more industrialised coastline. The temperature of the water is noticeably different though with a bit more of a chill.
What do you do all day on the water then? Well there is an array of skis, boards an inflatables that can give endless hours of fun. The biscuit proved to be great fun with not too much effort needed from the driver to slingshot the inflatable across the wake. There were screams and laughter and one or two tumbles. Inevitably it becomes the drivers challenge to unseat the rider in the biscuit from it, sometimes with a little too much force! At least one person was bounced 3 feet in the air from a 4 foot wave (it really was that big!) Everyone had a bash at skiing over the weekend whether it be on a pair of skis or the slalom ski or even the racing ski.
The disc proved to be a popular inflatable too whether with one or two passengers. Unlike the biscuit where you are seated this one has you lying flat hanging on. You do get more of a bashing on the ribs and the spray in the face is much worse but it's still full on fun. One person even managed to take a somersault off the disc and loose a wet boot in the process!
What to do at the end of the day? Well finish it off in the pub. A good few evenings of good banter about all manner of things.
