The waterski time trials are a fun competition run through the summer usually and sometimes in the winter. The concept is a grass roots fun event to encourage water skiers to try a form of water ski racing. The time trial is low cost, easy to do (you only need to ski on a pair) and you don't need any expensive kit. It is not high speed either as there is a limit to the ability of a pair or single slalom ski on speed. The route is also a circuit which limits speed. For the more experienced skiers it's a fun event to try and post a quicker time.
The circuit is about 600m and skiers complete 3 laps against the clock on a pair, slalom ski or even a kneeboard. It gives a taste of 'racing' but without the implications of racing head to head and the associated costs of your own boat, team and equipment.
