The day was rounded off with some kneeboarding and some learning with Alfie up on the skis again. Thanks to Neil and "bullet" for the tow duties and to Anne for the pictures. Also thanks to the Marina for their support.

Grass roots waterski racing event 2
The second event in the grass roots ski racing series took place on 10th August. The gale force winds did put some off but a few hardy souls took to the water for some bouncy skiing conditions on the water. The weather did close during the skiing with some heavy bursts of rain. Not so bad for the skiers but for spectators and timekeepers not so pleasant.
Skiing from the first event in May
Amongst the usual skiers a new face trying the event for the first time. Jayne Dickens has skied before but the last time was 12 years ago. After a false start Jayne got up and tackled the choppy waters round the basin covering 4 laps in 5:09. Well done Jayne!
The rest of the skiers covered 8 laps for the fuller 5km distance. Dave Owens completed his in 5.21, with Geoff Watson in 5.29 and Paul Rudland 6:46.The full results were as below with Dave recording the fastest lap.
