Ski Race training series 2019: Event 2

The second of the ski training series took place on the 16th June. The weather was much warmer than the previous event in April. The water conditions were also quite good with flat water across the course.
In the first heat Simon Binks and Dave Owens with crews of Neil Mackechnie / Steve Graham and Brian Waites / Geoff Watson. Both skiers were away together and the skied most of the way side by side. Dave held the inside turns but Simon was regaining on the outside. On the penultimate lap Dave went for a burst which soon ended with the boat grinding to a sudden halt. The result of a blown engine.
Geoff completed his time on an individual run behind bullet to gain some points for the series. Simon now leads the series both overall and in the handicap with 2 results.
